Adoptable Dogs

Missy is a 5 year old female black lab mix, approximately 68 lbs. She is very calm and loving and bonds easily to new people. Everyone who meets her falls in love with her! Missy is very well-behaved and has impeccable house manners, she has never damaged or destroyed anything. She is also house trained, in fact she’s never had a potty accident indoors, and she knows how to use a doggie door. We believe she is mixed with a Rhodesian Ridgeback because she has a “ridge” in the fur down the center of her back (visible in one of the photos here). Missy is good with kids, cats and most other dogs. Missy has been spayed and is up to date on all her vaccinations. Missy’s adoption fee is $150.

Jagger is a 1 year old male German Shepherd Dog, approximately 70 lbs. He came into the rescue as a stray and was very skinny, partly from undernourishment and partly from just being a very young dog. He is fully grown but will gain weight and fill out a lot more over the next year or so. Jagger still exhibits a lot of puppy-like behavior – very playful, energetic, and “mouthy.” He is very intelligent and needs a strong leader who will provide consistent training, socialization, and daily walks. With this breed’s history, potential adopters must be prepared for the drives (prey, food, hunt, fight, etc) that are bred into these dogs and be prepared to channel those drives appropriately. Jagger is house trained, crate trained and knows how to use a doggie door. He is good with most other dogs. Jagger loves to play “chase” so his ideal home would probably be one without cats or young children. He has been neutered and is up to date on all his vaccinations. Jagger’s adoption fee is $200. We highly recommend an owner who is already familiar with the German Shepherd breed.

(The dogs listed below will be posted as “available” for adoption once they’ve completed our rehab program)

Paige is a very gentle, sweet two year old hound dog mix. She is currently going through the rehab program at Beau’s Wish trying to overcome extreme shyness. We suspect that she has never lived indoors and has probably never played with any toys. She is learning quickly though and now loves to spend time cuddled up on a dog bed in the living room or playing with her foster brothers and sisters. Paige doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body, she’s an extremely gentle soul who just wants to be loved. Paige will be ready for adoption soon so keep watching for her “available” announcement! She’ll make a wonderful pet for any family.

Caleb is a one year old Golden Retriever mix. This handsome boy came to us from the shelter in Memphis, TN with fear issues and heartworm, so he is currently undergoing medical treatment and also going through our rehab program. Check out our Facebook page for continuing updates on Caleb’s progress. We’re excited for him to eventually find a forever home!

Disney (sponsored by Julieann and Terre Sommers from Harleyville, PA in memory Kelle and Rosie)

Disney is a female Golden Retriever who came to us from a shelter in Shelbyville, TN. We originally thought she was about 12 years old but we now believe she may be a bit younger than that. Disney lived most of her life in a mechanic’s shop that she just wandered into one day. She’s heartworm positive so she’s currently undergoing treatment to get rid of the heartworms. She’s going to make a very sweet, loving companion for someone as soon as she’s ready!
